PEDIATRIC PRESCRIBED EXTENDED
CARE CENTER (PPECC)
(Medical Daycare Programs)![]()
Building Blocks is the Solution
The consistency that the PPECC’s offer allows parent to work, go to school, and take care of other family responsibilities while their medically fragile child is care for by a professional nurse, in a fun, child friendly atmosphere on a regular basis. This reliable nursing care is provided by our experienced nursing staff and, unlike homecare, offers guaranteed coverage which may help children and families avoid unnecessary ER visits, prolonged hospital stays, and residential placement. Children who attend the PPECC’s will receive the same PT, OT, and ST plans as they would in the home setting.
Education Program
Our PPECC’s designs an educational program to meet the needs of each individual. Every child is evaluated and placed in a group based on his/her developmental age (not chronologically). Lesson plans are formulated based on holidays, seasons, birthdays, current events, and include pet therapy, music therapy, and arts and crafts. Additionally, each child is invited to participate in a Christian-based program, pending each child’s consent.
Eligibility
Medically fragile children from birth to eight years of age who have ongoing medical needs and would qualify for in home nursing services. We do not discriminate against anyone based on race, color, national origin, religious creed, ancestry, sex, age, or handicap.

A New Solution to an Old Problem
The Pediatric Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center (PPECC) was created to meet the needs of families with medically fragile and/or technologically dependent children who require skilled nursing services. The PPECC can be viewed as a “Medical Daycare” that can be used in place of in-home nursing or combined with in home coverage. Many times the individuality of a person coming into the home for an eight to twelve hour period does not work for all families. The PPECC offers 100% coverage in a way that does not disrupt family life.
