For Children and Families in Need

Ways you could contribute:

Firely Pediatric Services makes it a conscious effort to raise as much funds for these children as possible. We hold annual golf outings in the fall, bingos and craft fairs in the spring, and poker tournaments in mid to late spring to accomplish this task. Please contact Holly Firely @ 215-513-7455 ext 209 for ways you can contribute!

About:

Having established Harleysville Pediatric Home Care in 1998 and Harleysville Pediatric Extended Services in 2004, we are acutely aware of the challenges facing medically fragile children and their families. The demands on the family are constant and over bearing. The pressure of their illness often times cost medically fragile children their “childhood.”

We wanted to find a way to help bring a little joy to these children and possibly some relief for the families in any way possible. What we have done, to date, has become “The Firely Foundation.” The Firely Foundation was founded by Marty and Holly Firely in 2007; we are a 501 c 3 charitable organization. We currently have seven board members involved.

We started with a camp in Bradford County. Realizing that many of these children never got to enjoy the outdoors, we developed a “camping” experience that would allow kids to enjoy all that Gods creation has to offer all the while meeting their complex medically needs. We call it “Camp for Kids.” Activities like fishing, canoeing, four-wheeling, and horseback riding are just some of the adaptive activities that the children experience.

In addition we know what a financial burden medically fragile children can be on the entire family. With this in mind, and as funds allow, we seek to help offset whatever pressing financial burden we can in cases of extreme need.

With the help of generous supporters and Philanthropists as well as many fundraisers and events we strive to raise enough funds to support our cause.

What is Respite Care:

Firely Pediatric Services offers short-term, temporary care for the families of our clients. Family members may be hesitant to seek or use respite care or leave a loved one in the care of another. However, there is evidence that caregivers who take a break from the associated stresses of caring for a medically fragile family member are better caregivers in the long term.

Firely Pediatric Services families can leave their medically fragile child in one of our residential homes located in Lehigh, Montgomery, or Bradford counties. Currently all respite care is funded through the Firely Foundation. This funding from the foundation allows for no cost to families.

The meaningfulness behind the funds we raise:

We truly believe that the funds we raise within the Firely Foundation make a difference in each child’s life. We want to find a way to help bring a little joy to these children and possibly some relief for the families in any way possible. We know what a financial burden medically fragile children can be on the entire family. With this in mind, and as funds allow, we seek to help offset whatever pressing financial burden we can in cases of extreme need(s).
